Last weekend, he didn't leave the rebbe's bedside. Dr. Resnick was there Saturday night and early Sunday morning when the rebbe went into cardiac ar- rest, and when he died 1:50 a.m. Sunday. "From a medical stand- point, everything that could be done was," he said. Dr. Resnick, who moved from New York to West Bloomfield almost two years ago, has served for the past 17 years as a physician to Rabbi Schneerson. He was one of about 100 Detroiters — and tens of thousands from throughout the world — who attended the rebbe's funeral on Sunday. Held under cloudy skies, the funeral procession began at Lubavitch head- Rabbi Chaim Bergstein of Bais Chabad of Farmington Hills. "This is shocking to the system," said Rabbi Bergstein, who waited in line at the cemetery for almost three hours to spend a few seconds passing the rebbe's grave. "The rebbe represented the ideals all of us lived for. "There was not a day or an hour when the rebbe was not with me in my mind I'm doing his work. I believe in his ideals and his teachings."
