Mr. Sherbin, through his asso-
ciation with the Young Lawyers
Section of the State Bar of Michi-
gan, helped put about 35 law
firms on the Casual Day band-
wagon last year.
"Approximately 70 law firms in
Michigan will be taking part in
Casual Day this year, and 50-55
of them were recruited by our
Young Lawyers group," Mr.
Sherbin said.
Companies interested in

VAT and Customs receipts
jumped 10 percent in real terms
during the first third of the
year to NIS 10.25 billion, reflect-
ing a strong economy, said Israel
VAT and Customs director Aryeh
Zeit
Despite the elimination of the
2 percent import levy and pur-
chase tax, as well as tariff reduc-
tions, the government collected
NIS 1.25 billion more than in the
same period last year.

Tower Semiconductor of Israel
announced it has signed a three-
year production agreement with
the micro-controller group of Mo-
torola Inc. The companies agreed
to cooperate in the development
of technology.
Motorola said the agreement
is among the largest a world-
wide manufacturer and a local
high-technology company have
signed.
"The joint cooperation with
Motorola worldwide is an impor-
tant strategic step in Tower's
growth," said Dr. Yoav Nissan-
Cohen, Tower vice president of
technology and business devel-
opment.
"I cannot reveal the size of the
agreement, but can say it is sub-
stantial enough to justify Tower's
heavy investment of $35 million
last year," Dr. Nissan-Cohen said.
"The agreement is going to in-
crease production capacity about
50 percent."
Tower's sales were $11 million
in the first quarter.
"In the first phase, Tower will
manufacture a closed caption
decoder device used to include
captions in television broad
casting, mainly in the United
States, for hearing4mpaired
people," Dr. Nissan-Cohen said.
"The device is also used for
translating television subtitles
into different languages."
