Miriam Cohen was installed as
president of Temple Beth El Sis-
terhood. A sisterhood board mem-
ber for the past four years, Ms.
Cohen previously served as
recording secretary and admin-
istrative vice president of the sis-
terhood. She is immediate past
chair of the Rabbi B. Benedict
Glazer Institute for the Catholic,
Eastern Orthodox, Muslim and
Protestant Clergy, as well as a
member of the TBE Chorale and
a temple docent.
She also served on the execu-
tive board of the Detroit Auxil-
iary of Alpha Omega Dental
Fraternity; she is a member of
Hadassah and a life member of
the National Council of Jewish
Women, Greater Detroit Section.
Prior to becoming a full-time vol-
unteer, Ms. Cohen was the exec-
utive secretary to the medical
director of Providence Hospital
and supervisor of the hospital's
medical staff office.
Installed with Ms. Cohen were
Linda Bloom, Denny Brown, Bob-
bi Charnas and Faye Goldman,
vice presidents; Laurel Epstein,
treasurer; Sandra Moss, assistant
treasurer; Alice Zacks, financial
secretary; Deborah Canvasser,
recording secretary; and Laura
Wise corresponding secretary.

host Jewish women at a new
course titled "Jewish Women In
the Bible." The course, offered
Wednesday nights 8 p.m. at the

Marshall-Israel Chapter, B'nai
B'rith Women will have a
luncheon meeting noon June 16
at the Zionist Cultural Center,
18451 W. 10 Mile Rd., South-
field.
Fund-raising awards will be
presented. Reports will be given
about International B'nai B'rith
Women's Bi-Anneal Convention,
in Florida.

New Officers
For Masada

Masada Group of Hadassah will
have an installation June 21 at
noon at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
The installing officer will be Mar-
jie Federman of Greater Detroit
Chapter of Hadassah. The pro-
gram will feature "Potpourri In
Song" with Beynes Opengeym,
Russian keyboard artist.
