NEUTRALS

Fashion designers are keeping it in
neutral this summer when it comes
to color, hoping that this new palette
of cool hues will entice customers to
experience a refreshing, yet sophis-
ticated change. And these designers
have come up with some invigorat-
ing names to call the new neutrals.
The Calvin Klein signature col-
lection is always filled with a long list
of neutrals. The designer himself, a
minimalist, is enamored with the sim-
plicity of no-color colors.
This summer, Klein's collection is
no different With names like sisal,
plaster, iris, sandalwood, flint, clay,
umber and bisque, he gives silk
tanks, gauzy skirts, knit pullovers and
organza coats the ultimate sophisti-
cation of a neutral palette.
