Bais Chabad Torah Center will
offer two new eight-week cours-
es on Jewish mysticism for be-
ginners. The courses, which will
be led by Rabbi Elimelech Sil-
berberg, will be given Thursday
mornings at 10 a.m. and Thurs-
day evenings at 8:30 p.m. begin-
ning June 9 at the Torah Center,
5595 West Maple Road, West
Bloomfield.
The text that will be used is
Tanya written by the 18th cen-
tury mystic kabbalist Rabbi
Schneur Zalman of Liadi.
Babysitting is available. There is
a charge.

In its continuing celebration of its

70th anniversary, the Music
Study Club of Metropolitan De-
troit will install its officers for the
1994-95 season May 31. This an-
nual installation luncheon and
music program will take place at
noon at the Birmingham Temple.
Officers to be installed are:
president, Elaine Kohner; vice
presidents, Janet Landsberg,
Bertha Weill; secretaries, Mimi
Summers, Ann Ross, Pat Stobbe;
treasurer, Anne Cook. Installed
as the new board of directors will
be Florence Citarel, Doris Fish-
man, Annette Liberson, for two-
year terms; and Mildred
Charnas, Joyce Margolis, Vera
Rollin-Burke, for one-year terms.
The music program will fea-
ture Music Study Club's scholar-
ship recipients, Kevin Class,
pianist, winner of the Eichman
Rosenwach Memorial Fund for
Piano; and Darryl Taylor, tenor,
winner of the Emma Shaver
Scholarship for Voice. The Music
Study Club Choral Group di-
rected by Laura ReVelle
Schwartz and accompanied by
Zina Astrakhan also will perform.
