"Grandma,
why do they bate
me?"
Try to explain that anti-Semitism is just a fact
of life. But make sure you add that there's a
country where Jews can go to make a new
life — and a people throughout the world
who are determined that that country
remains safe and strong.
For hundreds of thousands of Jews coming
from lands of turmoil and oppression, that
haven is Israel. And for those who remain
behind, there are schools and camps and
food packages and homes for aged — all of
them made possible with the support of the
Jewish people.
This network of hope and survival is sup-
ported by the Jewish Federation of Metropoli-
tan Detroit and its partners overseas through
the United Jewish Appeal. But they cost
money. Can we afford to provide them?
Can we afford not to?
The Jewish future is in your hands. You
decide.
Please make your pledge to the Allied Jewish
Campaign. Now
Why now?
Campaign pledges received by the
close of Days of Decision will deter-
mine how much money is available to
each Federation agency and benefi-
ciary Your payment can wait, but
your community must know now if
there will be enough dollars to meet
vital needs in the year ahead. What
we get is what we give.
