Dr. Herbst was one of the first liberators to enter Buchenwald Concentration Camp; he has a videotaped segment regarding the liberation which is in the archives at the U.S. Holocaust Museum and is being used in one of their programs. Dr. Herbst was a Fellow in the American Geri- atric Association, American Society of Abdominal Surgery, American Occupational Medical Association. He was on staff at Brent Hospital.
