TROY
Charley's Crab, 5498 Crooks
Rd., Troy, 879-2060. Its dining
room was once the beautiful
great room of an auto baron's
Grosse Pointe mansion, sheer
elegance, and the true concept
of Chuck Muer seafood cuisine
is highly exemplified here. But
don't think for a moment that
this is all, just seafood. Charley's
Crab's menu, although highly
fish oriented, also includes dish-
es to delight other palates.

settled back in the United States,
Ms. Frank stopped teaching to
raise their three children—
Michelle, 23; Darin, 22; and
Jocelyn, 12.
"When our kids were old
enough to become involved with
an art program, I had little play-
group sessions with their friends.
I've always been interested in art
projects, and I enjoyed having art
programs in my basement for the
neighborhood kids," she said. "I
also was doing a lot of watercol-
or and some enameling and
woodworking, but I didn't begin
selling anything until I became
pregnant with my youngest
daughter.
"I started taking a jewelry class
and reacquainting myself with
enameling. I heard about an ex-
hibit at a local shopping mall and
asked to be included.
"About five weeks later, I met
with the buyer at Saks, and she
bought my whole line of jewel-
ry. A couple of weeks later I flew
to Dallas and met with the buy-
er at Neiman Marcus, and it just
snowballed from there."

dissatisfied trying to transpose
her ideas into metal. She went
back and forth with ideas before
she came up with the piece she
thought communicated her mes-

"I'm fascinated with enamel-
ing," explained the sculptor, who
works out of her West Bloomfield

Livonia. "Each time another col-

go through another firing. In its
final form, it is ever- changing as
light reflects on it."
Her newest jewelry line fea-

crafted with what the artist calls
"peeple," individualized, whim-
sical creatures that are not real-
ly men or women.
