AIDS
The 11th annual Detroit AIDS
Candlelight Vigil will be held
7 p.m. May 22 at Temple Is-
rael. The interfaith event will
feature the Rev. Jane Adams
Spahr, formerly with the
Downtown Church in New
York, and Rabbi Arnie Sleutel-
berg of Congregation Shir Tik-

Holocaust
Sinai Hospital sponsors two
support groups for Holocaust
survivors. Starting in June, one
group will meet at the Jewish
Community Center in Oak
Park on Monday mornings.
The other group will meet at
the Jewish Community Center
in West Bloomfield on Monday

Osteoporosis
Wayne State University is
sponsoring non-medical group
discussions for women who
have osteoporosis (brittle bone
disease), suspect they have it
or care for someone who suffers
from it. Participants will re-
ceive a stipend for their in-
volvement. The meetings are
sponsored through June by
WSU's Institute of Gerontol-
ogy. Transportation will be pro-
vided, if needed. For dates and

Volunteers
William Beaumont Hospital's
Division of Preventive and Nu-
tritional Medicine seeks vol-
unteers with high blood
pressure for research studies.
Volunteers over age 18 with a
diastolic pressure of 95 or above
are needed for studies of blood
pressure medicine. Both male
and female volunteers are
needed for the studies. Female
participants must be of non-
childbearing potential. Call

The American Heart Asso-
ciation is looking for volunteers
to disseminate heart-health
information and seek funds.
