Youth Events

Shir Shalom
Graduates

The Youth Department of Con-
gregation Beth Achim has sev-
eral events planned for the month
of May.
The B'nai Mazel youth Group
will spend the afternoon at U.S.
Blades May 15 beginning with a
dairy bag lunch at 1 p.m. There
is a charge for this event.
On May 15, the Lahav youth
group will hold a Shavuot
overnight Torah study session at
the home of Eta.n Berman.

Two young women, Shana Victor
and Marsha Rubinstein, will be
honored as they graduate from
Temple Shir Shalom May 13 at
8 p.m. at a special Shabbat ser-
vice conducted by the students.
They also will deliver the ser-
monettes, which will summarize
the effect their education has had
in their lives and how it will con-
tinue to affect their future.

Honors Youth

Temple Emanu-El will grant
diplomas to the members of the
1994/5754 religious school grad-
uation class at Erev Shabbat ser-
vices May 13 at 8:15 p.m.
Graduating are: Elana Bodzin,
Rena Genden, Jessica Gluckman,
Aaron Goldenberg, Barbara Leib-
son, Sarah Shafkind, Joel Stein-
gold, Ethan Stettner.
The annual service of confir-
mation will be May 15 at 7:30
p.m., Erev Shavuot. The members
of the 1994-5754 confirmation
class are: Elana Buch, Gregory
Finegood, Jessica Hudspeth, Scott
Kaplan, Daniel Levin, Alexis
Levine, Daniel London, Marc Se-
lik, Jeremy Sofferin, Matthew

NFTY Board
Is Elected

NFTY's Michigan Region (for-
merly MSTY) recently elected the
1994-95 regional executive board
at its annual Spring Conclave.
Elected to serve on next year's
regional board were: Aaron Starr,
president; Jill Rosenberg, Marla
Swartz, Aaron Jackson, vice pres-
idents; Samantha Spitzer, secre-
tary; Marlene Zendel, treasurer.
