ing in May with live music.
Although many people have
been coming after learning that
this is Ron Stewart's restaurant,
the problem still exists that not
enough know about the place ...
Stewart's is another restaurant
jewel whose brilliance has begun
to open a lot of eyes.
IT WAS ONLY five days
away from being a surprise 69th
birthday party ... But Bobby
Adell found out ... by turning on
daughter Joan Gold's answering
machine.
She waited by the door of Ex-
calibur Restaurant for him to ar-
rive and Bobby was already
accepting congratulations at the
bar.
150 people were treated to a
festive evening as Joan and par-
ty planner Andrea Solomon
pulled out all stops for a good
time ... Excalibur's interior was
dressed in colorful balloons ...
Table centerpieces were minia-
ture autos in the theme that has
brought Bobby wide recognition
... the patent ideas for automo-
tive betterment on today's cars.
The menu at Excalibur was a
lavish one ... with passed hors d'
oeuvres of coconut chicken,
stuffed mushrooms, etc., to go
with the bowls of jumbo shrimp
... Dinner choice from rack of
lamb, filet or salmon, satisfied a
lot of tastebuds.
Folks enjoyed the caricatures
of Lindsey Press; the psychic and
taro card reading by partners
Kevin Allen and Kerry Daniels;
the music of Suzie Marsh and
Dan Warren foursome; the Mar-
ilyn Monroe look-alike to join
Bobby at the mike; the presen-
tation to him by Joan of his old
Marine Corps bomber jacket that
didn't fit anymore; excellent Ex-
calibur waitpersons like Elaine
Hughan.
Frank Winton ready to have
the cast removed from his leg af-
ter suffering a fracture slipping
on the ice in front of his and wife
Flora's home ... "I can't even sue
myself," said Frank. "And I've al-
ready missed two tournaments"
... He is one of the Midwest's
leading 80-and-over tennis stars.
Marty and Lorraine Blanck be-
ginning to celebrate their 48th
anniversary... even though it
isn't until June ... Clive Cantor
reliving a lot of memories ... Lar-
ry Charfoos, living at the Jeffer-

sonion apartments on Jefferson,
talking about Detroit's upswing
and insisting that too many peo-
ple haven't seen the real beauty
of his city... David Handleman

They both work for Richard

Haggerty, south of 14 Mile.
It has been open since Decem-

People go for Richard's low-cal

chicken dinners...plus 12 subs,
four pastas, nine bar-b-q baby

filet dinners, large bison wings
(like buffalo wings, only bigger),
potato skins, soft garlic sticks,
steak fries, oven brown potatoes,
tole slaw, three salads (garden,
Greek, antipasto) and round or
