Adat Shalom Synagogue will
honor Judge Ira and Mrs. Mar-
garet Kaufman at Shabbat morn-
ing services May 7. Judge and
Mrs. Kaufman will be presented
with the Second Century Award
along with other honorees at the
Annual Jewish Theological Sem-
inary Gala May 23.
Judge Kaufman was president
of Adat Shalom Synagogue from
1947 to 1953, helping to found the

Temple Shir Shalom of West
Bloomfield will host its annual
fund-raising event "Portraits of
the Past" May 21. This 50s and
60s theme event will be held at
West Bloomfield High School.
The evening will start at 8 p.m.
with dinner provided by some of
the area's restaurants. There will
be dancing and a silent aucton
during this time. A live auction
will follow.
