Set For Fall

A special Jewish singles event
will be held in Phoenix, Ariz., at
the Arizona Biltmore Hotel, Sept.
2-6. The affair will include an
opening dance, two meals daily,
a 50s party, a Sunday night New
Year's black-tie optional dinner
dance, and Rosh Hashanah sin-
gles-only services. All hotel
amenities are included with golf
and tennis available.

Singles Mission
Names Chairman

Detroiter Ronald A. Klein has
been named a national co-chair-
man of the United Jewish appeal
Hatikvah Summer Singles Mis-
sions. Local chairmen are James
L. Bellinson and Lisa B. Leib.
The Israel trip for singles 25-25
will take place July 3-14. Co-spon-
sored by the Jewish Federation's
Young Adult Division, the trip in-
cludes visits to historical sites, Yad
Vashem, Masada and the Muse-
um of the Diaspora; an archaeo-
logical dig, air show, beach party,
cruise, tubing down the Jordan
River, Shabbat service at the
Western Wall and meetings with
new immigrants.
Mr. Klein served on Federa-
tion's Young Adult Division ex-
ecutive committee from 1990 to
1993 and co-chaired Federation's
Economic Forum in 1992 and
1993. Mr. Mein will co-chair the
Federation's next Michigan Mir-
acle Mission in May 1995.
Mr. Bellinson is on the YAD
executive board and chairs its
Outreach Committee. He has
been an executive board member
of the division and co-chaired its
Volunteer, Annual Meeting and
Cultural/Political Awareness
committees. Ms. Leib is a mem-
ber of YAD's Cultural/Political
Awareness Committee and par-
ticipates in activities on behalf of
AHVEN and Orchards Chil-
dren's Services.
The singles mission will in-
clude social events with Jewish
singles from other communities,
tree planting and a visit to De-
troit's Project Renewal sister city
of Yavne.
Cost of the mission for Allied
Jewish Campaign contributors
of $500 or more is $2,295 round
trip from New York, per person,
based on double occupancy. It in-
cludes deluxe accommodations
and most meals. Application
deadline is May 13.
