Meeting Set
An information meeting about
the 1994 United Jewish Appeal
Hatikvah Summer Singles Mis-
sion will be held 7 p.m. May 5 at
the home of Jim Bellinson, 1044
Clark, Birmingham.
Co-sponsored by the Young
Adult Division of the Jewish Fed-
eration, the Israel trip will take
place July 3-14. The itinerary in-
cludes visits to historical sites,
Yad Vashem, Masada and the
Museum of the Diaspora; an
archaeological dig, air show,
beach party, cruise, tubing down
the Jordan River, Shabbat ser-
vice at the Western Wall and
meetings with new immigrants.
There will be social events and
Detroit participants also will have
the opportunity to plant trees and
visit their Project Renewal sister
city of Yavne.
Cost of the mission for Allied
Jewish Campaign contributors
of $500 or more is $2,295 round
trip from New York, per person,
based on double occupancy. It in-
cludes deluxe accommodations
and most meals. The trip is open
to Jewish singles 25-35.

Health Care
Is Debate Focus
Odyssey, AJC's Jewish Singles
project, will host an evening ex-
ploring health care reform, ex-
amining the controversial
national health care debate, 7:30
p.m. May 10 at the Max M. Fish-
er Building.
Elliot Shifman will moderate
the evening's discussion. Panel
participants will include State
Representative David M. Gubow,
Bruce J. Finsilver and Dr.
Bernard Eisenstein. Elliot Shif-
man is a management consultant
and founder of the first dedicat-
ed health care marketing organi-
zation. Bruce J. Finsilver is
president of Freedom Plan Ad-
ministrators, an ERISA Trust
that combines small businesses
in Southeast Michigan to acquire
prepaid medical care (HMO)
benefits; Dr. Bernard Eisenstein
is a surgeon and administrator
at Beaumont Hospital. David M.
Gubow sits on the state's Public
Health and Mental Health com-
mittees.
Jewish Singles (thirty some-
thing plus) are invited to attend
