curriculum; supervising
the work of teachers and
support staff; developing
teacher training pro-
grams; coordinating ap-
propriate diagnostic or
evaluative testing of
students; coordinating
regulatory, licensing, ac-
creditation and inspec-
tion activities to insure a
safe and nurturing envi-
ronment; implementing
fund-raising and com-
munity relations activi-
ties; and providing lead-
ership in the develop-
ment of a multicultural
community at the Uni-
versity of Michigan.
Necessary qualifications
include a master's de-
gree in early childhood
education or an equiva-
lent combination of ed-
ucation and experience;
certification by the De-
partment of Social Serv-
ices; experience as a
preschool teacher; rea-
sonable experience in
the administration of
preschool centers and
activities and knowledge
of affirmative action and
safety procedures. Pos-
session of a valid teach-
