Fine Arts Fair
Planned

Art Birmingham '94 will take
place June 18-19 in the Birm-
ingham Theatre parking lot off
of Woodward Avenue. The two-
day event will feature local and
national artists, in six cate-
gories: sculpture, glass, jewel-
ry, ceramics, painting and
graphics.
The focus of Art Birmingham
will center around the juried ex-
hibition of fine art (under the
auspices of the Detroit Institute
of Arts), in which the public will
enjoy the opportunity to meet,
interact with, view the works of
and purchase art from the artist
who created it.

Torah Center
Lectures, Trip

Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg of
Bais Chabad Torah Center will
deliver a lecture on the Torah
portion of the week 8:15 p.m.
• April 18 at the Torah Center.
• The talk will include a discus-
sion on "Homosexuality — The
Torah Viewpoint."
The Torah Center invites
adults to participate in its "Bais
Medrash Night Program"
which takes place on Tuesday
nights at 8 p.m. at the Torah
Center. The program enables
participants to study with a
partner any number of areas in
Halachah and Jewish thought.
Bais Chabad Torah Center
will embark on a mission to
Israel July 31-Aug. 13. Mem-
bers of the mission will be ac-
commodated at five-star Israel
hotels.

The Midrasha Center for Adult
Jewish Learning has an-
nounced a scheduling change in
its current three-part lunch and
learn series "Pirkei Avot
Themes: An Introduction to
Avot D'Rabbi Natan."
The series was originally
scheduled to run on three con-
secutive Wednesday afternoons
beginning April 6. Instead, the
first session was held April 13.
The series will continue April
20 and 27. Adult learners who
missed the first class but would
like to attend either or both of
the remaining study sessions
• are welcome to do so, but ad-
? vance registration is a must.
