The first of three programs with Rabbi Rabinowitz will be a lunch and learn event 11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m. April 15.At that time the scholar, who is li- brarian at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America as well as an as- sociate professor of Talmud, will launch the weekend exploration with a talk on "Tradition Versus Logic." At Shabbat morning services April 16, he will deliver a sermon on "Deal- ing With Jews Who Are Different From Us." At a Shabbat luncheon program fol- lowing Kiddush, Rabbi Rabinowitz will consider "Is Hospice Permissible? Can We Withhold Medication and Treatment?" Rabbi Rabinowtiz has written sev- eral editions of medieval halachic works and has received a National Defense Foreign Language Fellow- ship, a Memorial Foundation grant, and a fellowship from the Herbert Lehman Institute for Talmudic Is- sues.
