The Council of Orthodox Rabbis of Greater Detroit
Wishes To Inform The Public That:

One should not buy Chometz for several weeks after Passover
from a Jewish owned store that had sold Chometz during
Passover. This is true even if the store displays a certificate from
a Rabbi declaring that the Chometz in the store was sold to a
Non-Jew before Passover, since there is a good possibility that
there was new Chometz delivered on Passover. That Chometz
would not be covered by the pre-Passover sale.

Getting A Get

The Council of Orthodox Rabbis of Greater Detroit wishes to inform
the Jewish public that a Civil Divorce without a Jewish Get is worth-
less according to Jewish law. A couple may not remarry in Jewish law
until after a Get. To arrange a get, call our office (810) 559-5005.

Workout Benefits
AIDS Research

Detroit fitness buffs can flex
their support muscles April 16
in the sixth annual Workout for
Hope, an international three-
hour fitness marathon benefit-
ing AIDS research at City of
Hope National Medical Center
in California.
Leading the Detroit workout
from 9 a.m. to noon at the Or-
chard Ridge Campus of Oak-
land Community College, 27055
Orchard Lake Road in Farm-
ington Hills, will be chairper-
son Gail Mondry. Registration
begins at 7:30 a.m. For event in-
formation and registration
forms, call 737-3020.
Workout for Hope, a one-of-
a-kind sweat-a-thon which
takes place simultaneously in
gyms and clubs across the coun-
try, led by top aerobic and fit-
ness instructors, has again
expanded in 1994.
After beginning in 1989 as
a one-day fund-raiser in 45
cities, a record 120 cities - in-
cluding cities in Australia and
Japan - are joining in this year
with a collective fund-raising
goal of $1.5 million.
People of all fitness levels are
invited to Workout for Hope
against AIDS.
Film and television actress
and former professional athlete
Cathy Lee Crosby has been
named the 1994 Workout for
Hope Celebrity Spokesperson.
She will be appearing on the
event's behalf nationwide.
The City of Hope National
Medical Center and its Beck-
man Research Institute, locat-
ed in Duarte, 25 miles northeast
of downtown Los Angeles, is
known for its treatment and re-
search to combat leukemia and
other forms of cancer, diabetes
and Tourette Syndrome.
While more than 90 percent
of City of Hope patients are
treated for some type of malig-
nant disease, active research is
also under way to address
Alzheimer's disease, AIDS and
a number of genetic and hered-
itary disorders.
