gles event over the Memorial
Day weekend, May 27-31. This
Orthodox Singles Weekend is
sponsored by Congregation
Beth Jacob in conjunction with
the Atlanta Scholars Kollel.
The theme is "Back to Tradi-
tion."
Learning throughout the
weekend will be led by Rabbi
Ilan D. Feldman (rabbi of Beth
Jacob) and members of the At-
lanta Scholars Kollel. Men and

invited to participate in learn-
ing, Shabbat services, socializ-
ing, sightseeing and other
activities, all in a Torah at-
mosphere.

Hears Professor

Dr. Jack Wertheimer will be
the featured speaker at the sin-
gles Shabbat service at Con-
gregation Beth Shalom 8:30
p.m. April 15.
Dr. Wertheimer, professor of
American history, Jewish The-
ological Seminary, will speak
on "Walking the Tightrope: The
Tension Between Jewish and
American Values." Dr. Wer-
theimer is the Joseph and
Martha Mendelson Professor
of American Jewish History.
The community-wide Singles
Shabbat Services program is
sponsored by the Michigan
Board of Rabbis, in cooperation
with The Jewish News and the
Jewish Community Center.
These services have been made
