Masada Group Hosts Speakers Rachel Maisel Women Honor Rachel Maisel Rachel Maisel, active Adat Shalom Synagogue and sister- hood leader, will be honored for "her true spirit of sisterhood" at a dessert buffet, 12:30 p.m. April 11 at the home of Carol Maisels. A former sisterhood educa- tion vice president, Ms. Maisel will be recognized for her many contributions to sisterhood, the synagogue and the community. She chaired the Adat Shalom Ritual Committee, at which time she strongly advocated aliyot to the Torah for syna- gogue women. She has be- friended many new Americans and serves as a volunteer Eng- lish tutor. Hundreds of Meals on Wheels elderly and home- bound know her for her warmth and sensitivity. Special entertainment has been planned for the afternoon. Elizabeth Weiss, a well-known local actress, will read selec- tions from Readers Theater repertoire.
