On April 6, Wayne State's Stu-
dents for a Secure Israel will
present Debbie Feinstein, Mid-
west field director for the
American-Israel Public Affairs
Committee's (AIPAC) Political
Leadership Development Pro-
gram. Ms. Feinstein will talk at
the Wayne State Hillel, room
667 Grosberg Center, at 1 p.m.,
offering an introducton to
AIPAC.
Ms. Feinstein also will speak
at the Max Fisher Building,

Hills, at 7:30 p.m. about political
activism and getting involved
in politics.
On April 10 at 2 p.m., at the
Agency for Jewish Education,
21550 West 12 Mile Rd., South-
field, Hillel of Metro Detroit will
present Aviva Kempner, who is
the writer and producer of the
film The Life and Times of
Hank Greenberg. Ms. Kempner
will show portions of this work-
in-progress and discuss the
making of the film.

IMPAC and Students for
Wolpe will present Howard
Wolpe April 5, 7:30 p.m. at Hil-
lel. Howard Wolpe, a former
U.S. Congressman, is a visit-
ing professor at the University
of Michigan and a Michigan
gubernatorial candidate.
Hillel will present One Flew
Over the Cuckoo's Nest as part
of a Study Break Film Series on
April 6 at 9 p.m. at Hillel. Pop-
corn will be available for a
charge.
Art Spiegelman is co-
founder/editor of Raw, the mag-
azine of avant-garde comics and
graphics. His drawings have
been exhibited in museums and
galleries here and abroad. In
addition to his Pulitzer Prize,
Mr. Spiegelman has received a
Guggenheim fellowship, and
nominations for the National
Book Critics Circle Award for
Maus I.
Mr. Spiegelman's presenta-
tion will be at 8 p.m. April 14 in
Michigan State University's
Fairchild Theater. Copies of his
books will be available for pur-
chase and signing after the
lecture.
MSU Hillel
Plans Events
MSU Hillel announces the fol-
lowing programs. On April 1,
there will be a Shabbat dinner
at 7 p.m. following Conserva-
tive services at 6:15 p.m. There
is a charge and reservations are
required.
On April 3, the social com-
mittee will sponsor a canoe-
ing/picnic trip complete with a
kumsitz. Meet at Hillel at 3:30
p.m.
On April 5, the Jewish Stu-
dent Union will sponsor its
second annual interfaith/in-
terethni c seder for the campus
community at 7:30 p.m. in the
MSU Union.
On April 6, Holocaust scholar
Gisela Morel-Tiemann will
speak on "Holocaust Education
in Germany Today" at 8 p.m. in
the Illinois Room of the MSU
Union.
On April 7, the film Partisans
of Vilna will be shown in
Erickson Kiva on MSU's cam-
pus at 7:30 p.m. Producer,
Aviva Kempner, will answer
questions after the film.

Gives Lecture
Rabbi Gives
Review, Lecture
On April 14 as part of MSU's
Holocaust Commemoration
Week, the Jewish Studies Pro-
gram will present the David
and Sarah Rabin Memorial Lec-
ture. This year's Rabin lecturer
will be author and graphic artist
Art Spiegelman. Mr. Spiegel-
man's presentation, 'The Mak-
ing of Maus," is a look at the
origins of the ideas and art of
his 1991 Pulitzer-winning book,
Maus I, and Maus II cartoon
series representing the Holo-
caust experiences of his mother
and father.
On April 4 at 8:30 p.m., Rabbi
Sherwin Wine of the Birming-
ham Temple, will discuss "De-
niers of the Holocaust: The New
Enemy," based on the new book
by Deborah Lipstadt.
There is a charge.
Rabbi Wine will describe the
philosophy and the programs of
the Birmingham Temple and of
Humanistic Judaism at a gath-
ering in the temple library 7:30
p.m. April 6.
