Work-Study
In Israel

Livnot U'Lehibanot (To Build
and To Be Built), the 14-year
old work/study program in
Israel, will offer a short version
of its successful three-month
program. These sessons will
open on May 29, June 27 and
July 24. With campuses in the
mountain top city of Tzfat and
historical Jerusalem, Livnot
also will continue to offer its
traditional three-month pro-
gram during this summer and
the rest of the year. The next
three-month program will begin
June 5.
Both the long and short pro-
grams include the study of
Judaism in an open and ques-
tioning atmosphere during daily
classes taught in English. Par-
ticipants also work in the com-
munity restoring and rebuilding
the land and doing communi-
ty service work. There are nu-
merous hikes throughout Israel.
All Livnot programs spend time
in both Jerusalem and Tzfat.
The programs are designed
for Jewish men and women
ages 21-30 with minimal Jew-
ish background. For informa-
tion, call 212-752-2390; or write
