PINY TOTS
When it comes to dressing up babies and
toddlers, parents are free to satisfy their own
whimsy. Whether decked out in complete nau-
tical splendor or rolling around in full floral
fantasy, chances are the little one won't even
notice.
At this age, however, function is as impor-
tant as fashion. Parents will appreciate fabrics
that wash well, since babies and messes often
go together. Regular diaper changes become
less of a hassle when clothing is easier to work
with.
Gymboree's popular line of clothing for ba-
bies and toddlers charms parents with bright
colors and snappy styles, while keeping the
comfort of youngsters in mind.
Crawling girls are treated to shorter dress-
es that won't get hung up when they scoot
along, with matching leggings that protect
their little knees.
Little guys look sharp in short and pant
overall sets. Most of the styles come in com-
fy cotton that looks just as cute wash after
wash.
COOL LOOKS FOR KIDS
Since kids want to be like their moms and
dads, more and more we see children's cloth-
ing mimicking mature styles. Whether it's a
vested pantsuit that looks just like mom's or
Levi's and a baseball jacket exactly 111(e dad's—
kids' fashions often lend an air of maturity that
is adorable in light of their tender age.
This spring look for little girls to be gussied
up in gingham, plaids, florals, stripes and
hearts. Fashion-conscious girls won't feel
dressed unless accessorized from head to
toe— hair pieces, hats, socks or leggings com-
plete a look.
For boys, sports and transportation themes
almost always fit the bill —from baseball to
planes, trains or cars. Note also lots of stripes
and plaids as well this season.
Families can also make some of their own
fashion fun. Check out the rainbow of fabric
