Both will appear at the new
Sterling Heights Weight Watch-
ers center at 6 p.m. April 4. Ms.
Mark and Mr. Notte will offi-
ciate at the grand opening cel-
ebration, which will include a
ribbon-cutting.
Special speakers scheduled
to appear at the center this
month include Hudson's hair
stylists Bianca Nicholas (10
a.m. April 18) and Elaine
Michalos (6 p.m. April 20); in-
terior designer Barb Tanney (7
p.m. April 14); and Weight
Watchers nutritionist Darlene
Zimmerman (noon April 26).
There is no charge to hear
the speakers. The center is lo-
cated in the Clinton Valley Mall
at 44955 Schoenherr.

Employee Rights
Seminar Slated

For years, management has at-
tended training seminars on
how to terminate employees
and avoid litigation.
The National Lawyers Guild,
Detroit Chapter, is offering an
all-day Employee Rights Sem-
inar on April 23 at the Kingsley
Inn in Bloomfield Hills.
The seminar will provide
employees with tips and legal
advice on issues like retaliation
against "whistleblowers," rights
of handicapped workers and
problems with severance pay.
Douglas Fraser, president
emeritus of the UAW, has been
scheduled to present the
keynote address.
Detroit Chapter president
Sheldon J. Stark, a member of
the seminar committee, is a
Hearing Referee with the
Michigan Department of Civil
Rights. Michael L. Pitt, anoth-
er seminar committee member,
is a frequent lecturer on em-
ployment-related issues.
