er Wise will be remembered 8
p.m April 1 when members of
the Reform Jewish community
gather to worship at Temple
Beth El on Isaac Mayer Wise
Shabbat.
In a program titled "Yester-
day, Today and Tomorrow:
Viewing the Roots and Future
of Reform Judnism Through Its
Music," the metropolitan De-
troit Reform congregations will
retrace their roots and celebrate
their traditions. A special
prayerbook, which combines el-
ements from some of the Re-
form Movement's early
prayerbooks with selections
from present texts, has been
created for the evening.
Featured will be a musical
presentation by Cantor Gail
Hirschenfang of Temple Beth
El, Cantor Harold Orbach of
Temple Israel and Cantor Nor-
man Rose of Temple Emanu-El.
Also performing will be the com-
bined temple choirs under the
direction of Cantor Hirschen-
fang.
