FRUIT GAZPACHO
2 c. tomato puree
3 c. orange juice, with pulp
• 2 t. sugar
zest of 1 orange and 1 lime
2 c. diced cantaloupe
2 c. diced honeydew
1 mango peeled and diced
(optional)
1 apple peeled and diced
1 c. blueberries
1 c. green or red seedless
grapes, cut in half
fresh strawberries
1 or 2 kiwi, peeled and
sliced
Combine tomato puree, or-
ange juice, sugar, orange and
lemon zest, cantaloupe, honey-
dew and mango in a large bowl.
Process half the mixture in a
food processor until smooth.
Pour the mixture over the fruit
in the bowl, mix well. Stir in the
apple, blueberries and grapes.
Refrigerate covered for sever-
al hours. Ladle soup into bowls
and garnish with several straw-
berry halves and a couple of
kiwi slices. Serves 8. ❑

One step was omitted from

cooked and processed until
smooth in a food processor
before being mixed with
the other ingredients.

Jerusalem (JTA) — Two
Israeli soldiers were killed
in the southern Lebanon
security zone on in an am-
bush by gunmen of the
Islamic fundamentalist
Hezbollah movement.
The soldiers were killed in
the eastern region of the
security zone near the
village of Ayshiya. An offi-
cer with the South Lebanon
Army, Israel's ally in the re-
gion, was killed in a
separate incident.
In retaliation, Israeli and
SLA forces opened up heavy
fire.
In the West Bank, a bus en
route to the settlement of
Ateret was shot at as it was
passing near the town of
Ramallah.
The bus driver, despite be-
ing injured, managed to in-
crease his speed and drive
his vehicle to safety in the
settlement. An Israeli
soldier accompanying the
bus returned fire. ❑
