Parenting Center
Offers Programs

The Eugene and Marcia Ap-
plebaum Jewish Parenting
Center, 4200 Walnut Lake Rd.,
West Bloomfield, will host the
following programs.
"Grand Time for Grandpar-
ents!" provides grandparents
and their grandchildren ages 3-
5 an opportunity to enhance
their relationship through
memory-making adventures,
games, crafts and storytelling.
Susan Barr, educator, librarian,
storyteller, will facilitate on
April 10, 17, 24, and May 1,
10:30-11:30 a.m.
Elissa Rosenfeld will lead
"The Next S.T.E.P.," a seven-
session study group which is a
follow-up to preschool or ele-
mentary Mensch Making -
S.T.E.P. classes, on April 11-
June 6 (no class May 16 and 30)

9-10:30 a.m. This class will en-
courage parents to take a fresh
look at their parenting style
and provide an in-depth look at
the factors which influence the
ability to be effective parents.
"Certified Babysitting" is de-
signed to help students 11
years of age or older to get ready
for all those summer babysit-
ting opportunities. Michelle
Pryslac's instruction will teach
them: basic first aid, how to
handle emergency situations,
general child care, appropriate
Jewish stories and practices.
Students will receive a Red
Cross certification card on suc-
cessful completion of the class,
as determined by the instruc-
tor. Class meets April 11-May
23 (no class May 16), 4-5:30 p.m.
