SHIRLEE BLOOMS
TRADITIONAL PASSOVER
GLATT KOSHER
CI CARRY-OUT MENU rj

Seafood, but now with the
added menu additions, a more
diversified dining selection is
available.
You might call this another
dream come true in the restau-
rant world . . . Vickie's Steak
House & Seafood is the culmi-
nation of a someday hope .. .
and being employer of the Billy
Rose Trio, even if only for
Wednesdays and Fridays, is like
a reality-filled fantasy.
Then again, one cannot dis-
count the strong desire of own-
ing her own place that Vickkie
has had throughout the years
. . . Here is a gal that achieves
what she sets her sights upon
. . . Vickkie, together with Billy
and her fine employee crew,
make for happy evenings of
good dining and a lot of won-
derful musical enjoyment.
A GROUP OF men and
women volunteers, headed by
Col. Joe Glazer, has been serv-
ing Southfield over 25 years
. . . They help the police and fire
departments with traffic con-
trol and security, plus fire-re-
lated emergencies like wires
down, etc.
But now the big emphasis for
Joe and his team is focusing on
Southfield's excellent Handi-
capped Enforcement Program,
aimed at the handicapped
places to park.
Lt. James Lelli is the South-
field police liaison officer . . . and
Joe coordinator for the Emer-
gency Management, whose

Years of experience

places.

members are fully trained,
given uniforms, patrol in
marked cars surveying handi-
cap parking areas for violators
and issuing citations . . . Since
1992, the Southfield Police
Dept. has had this successful
handicapped parking program
in force . . . and it is growing
stronger because of a lot of very
dedicated people.
Guys and gals 18 or over, in-
cluding retirees, wanting to join
this worthy group don't have to
be Southfield residents . . . and
are needed . . . Call the Emer-
gency Management Division,
354-9152, Monday-Friday, 8
a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is a great cause .. .
Handicapped parking is for the
handicapped . . . Violators
should be ashamed of them-
selves . . . If Joe and his gang
catch them, it's a costly shame.
FOLKS WHO go to Florida
ask the whereabouts of Harvey
and Karen Bloom since they
closed their Detroit Deli there.
Both are at Brothers Deli-
catessen in Pompano Beach
. . . Harvey is manager and
Karen hostess . . . Harvey, by

the way, is serving vegetarian
chopped liver at Brothers . . . the
same gotten from Shirlee Bloom
at Vineyards on Northwestern
Highway . . . She recently sent
the recipe to her brother.
GALS WHO intend to have
their hair colored or cut during
the last week in March will
have to change dates if Mario
Bitonti of Mariomax at Cross-
winds Mall has the booking .. .
He'll go to Santa Barbara,
Calif., to do a hair demonstra-
tion and won't return until
March 30.
GOOD WAITRESS Dept.
. . . Victoria "Vickie" Pulford and
Linda Brozowsky, evenings at
Rialto Cafe, Woodward and
Nine Mile . . . service-minded,
personable and smiling.
Rialto still remains one of the
few restaurants around that
cuts turkey directly from the
bird . . . not thawed out breasts
.. Now that Charlie Pappas
and niece Loula Pappas are
running the show again at
Rialto, folks have started to
flock back . . . He is also still
looking for another site .. .
preferably Northwestern High-
way.
CONGRATS . . . to Magene
and Sam Richman . . . on their
55th anniversary . . . to Jewish
Federation's David Moss . . . on
his birthday . . . to Richard and
Judie Moss . . . on their 37th an-
niversary.
FORMER CHEF at Larco's
on W. McNichols, Peter Bere-
shaj, has bought a major inter-
est in Gateway Deli, Harvard
Row, 11 Mile and Lahser.
Former owner Lenny Fidler
will still retain a share of Gate-
way Deli, which has some of the
best waitresses around, and will
continue to be a fine delica-
tessen with the same folks cook-
ing traditional Jewish dishes.
Gateway Deli closes March
26 for a full face-lift and reopens
April 1 . . . the beginning of
opening on Sundays.
Peter brings a flair for
gourmet-like dishes under $7 .
.. plus that famous zip sauce on
steaks.
REUNION DEPT. . . . One
of the driving forces behind the
fine Alger School reunion of four
years ago, Harry Lipsitz, is at
it again . . . This time it's a 50th
year get-together for Northern
High School classes of '43, '44,
`45 . . . April 30 at Livonia Mar-
riott ... Call Freida Cathers,
