THE BEST OF THE BEST! Elscint's Net Profit Up $6.3 Million Elscint ended 1993 with a net profit of $26.3 million, up from $20 million recorded the pre- vious year. The figures for the Elbit sub- sidiary, which produces ad- vanced medical electronics equipment, include a first-quar- ter $4.9 million profit due to ac- counting changes and $3.4 million in other income, in- cluding income earned from patent litigation settlements. Without the profit due to the accounting changes, the com- pany's net profit rose by 7 per- cent to $21.5 million. `Hot Wheels' Is Seminar Topic Automobile enthusiast and col- lector David Draper will discuss "Hot Wheels: Collectible Cars and What Investors Are Buying" March 17.
