School Funding
Forum At JCC
A forum on the school funding
crisis will be held at the Maple-
Drake Jewish Community Cen-
ter 7:30 p.m. March 10.
The forum features Reps.
Maxine Berman (D-Southfield),
Barbara Dobb (R-Commerce),
David Gubow (D-Huntington
Woods), Nelson Saunders (D-
Detroit), and Sen. David Honig-
man (R-West Bloomfield). It
will be held five days before the
state-wide election on the issue.
Shelley Paros, chairwoman
of the Oakland County Region
of the League of Women Voters,
will moderate the forum. Ad-
mission is free.

The Jewish Genealogical Soci-
ety of Michigan will feature a
lecture on Holocaust era re-
search sources by Betty Pro-
viser-Starkman at 7:30 p.m.
March 10 at Temple Beth El.
Ms. Proviser-Starkman is a
nationally known expert in
Jewish genealogy. She is also
the founding president of the
Jewish Genealogical Society of
Michigan.
She will discuss the wealth
of information that is available
on Holocaust victims.
There is no charge for mem-
bers and first-time guests. A re-
search help session is available
at 7 p.m.

admitted to the Jewish Theo-
logical Seminary, where she
was ordained in 1989. Rabbi
Grossman is a Ph.D. candidate
