CARLA JEAN SCHWARTZ LOCAL COLUMNIST

The Internation-
al Cultural Festi-
val, sponsored by
the Ritz-Carlton
and Ford Motor
Co., was held last
week and ended
with an Israeli
brunch. Bill and
Natalie Carroll

of West Bloomfield attended the
event. Mr. Carroll is with the

public affairs department of the
North American Automotive
Operations at Ford Motor Co.
This was the first year the fes-
tival included Israel.

Rafi Masok, an Israeli
chef who is with Chicago's
Viv Cafe Restaurant, helped
plan the menu at the Ritz. In
addition to the delicious
food, the Hora Aviv dancers
entertained. Fay Knoll was
part of the duo.
Margie Samuels, Mrs.
Carroll's mother, also at-
tended the brunch and
reminisced about her
husband's famous Eastern
Market restaurant,
Samuels' Brothers.
