Music Club
Meeting Set
In celebration of its 70th an-
niversary, the Music Study
Club of Metropolitan Detroit
will offer a reprise of a piece that
it commissioned Ned Rorem to
write for its 60th anniversary.
Dances will be performed by
cellist Irina Tikhonova and
pianist Renee Robbins at the
club's meeting March 15 at
12:15 p.m. at the Birmingham
Temple. There is a charge.
Cellist Irina Tikhonova is a
local teacher and performer. Be-
fore coming to the United
States, Ms. Tikhonova held the
position of assistant principal
cellist of the State Symphony
Orchestra of Radio and Televi-
sion in Kiev, Ukraine. She has
performed with the Ensemble
of Philharmonic Soloists in Kiev
and has been a member of the
Renaissance Chamber Orches-
tra, Harmony Philharmonic
Soloists and the New Rose Trio.
Renee Robbins received her
bachelor's degree in music from
Eastman School of Music in
Rochester, N.Y. In 1974, she
began the Suzuki piano pro-
gram in Ann Arbor. Ms. Rob-
bins is active in the area as a
piano teacher and Suzuki
trainer as well as accompanist
and chamber musician.
Dances is a suite of seven
short movements with impres-
sionistic titles.

For T'Chiyah
Congregation T'Chiyah will
hold a Reconstructionist Shab-
bat service 10 a.m. March 5 at
the Agency for Jewish Educa-
tion Building, Southfield.
The service will 1-e led by
Bobbie Cash and Neal
Schindler.
Founded in 1976, the syna-
gogue holds weekly services in
downtown Detroit.
Additional suburban services
at the AJE will be held April 9,
May 13 and June 3.
The Volunteer Network of the
Jewish Federation Business
and Professional Women/Wo-
men's Division has scheduled
several opportunities for vol-
unteers to assist human service
agencies in the metropolitan
Detroit area.
On March 14, the Volunteer
Network will join the Jewish
Association for Residential Care
for a movie night with residents
of JARC homes. Participants
will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the
Maple-Drake Jewish Commu-
nity Center and carpool to the
program.
Volunteers go to Teitel Apart-
ments March 17 for an oral
history project, interviewing
residents about their memories
of World War II. Volunteers flu-
ent in Hebrew or Yiddish will
be able to record the memories
of residents who have come re-
cently from the former Soviet
Union.

Passover Series
At Bais Chabad
Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg of
Bais Chabad Torah Center will
deliver a two-part lecture series
on 'The Intricacies Of Prepar-
ing For Passover Eve Which
Falls Out On Shabbos."
The series will include in-
structions on koshering all
kitchen utensils as well as other
pre-Passover preparations.
The lectures will be 8:15 p.m.

Keshet Holds
Support Group
Keshet, an organization for
Jewish families of children
with special needs, will hold
their bi-weekly support group
meeting 7:30 p.m. March 6 in
the Cranbrook Centre office
