Tadiran Signs
Agreement
Tadiran Telecommunications
announced it has signed a
strategic product and market-
ing development agreement
with the Danish communica-
tions firm NKT in the field of
advanced transmission net-
works.
The two companies agreed
to work together and jointly in-
vest in co-developing a family
of products using technology
for integrating cable operations
and telephone service on the
same wires.
The two also will market
these products worldwide, they
reported.

New Surveillance
Plane Unveiled
A new jointly developed mar-
itime surveillance plane was
unveiled by Israel Aircraft In-
dustries and Russia's Antonov
aircraft industries.
The new plane, called the
Antonov 72P, will be market-
ed to countries with extensive
coastal borders, said
Yishayahu Shapiro, general
manager of IAI's Shaham
plant, which was behind the
plane's development.
The main body of the
Antonov 72P is being built by
the Russians, while IAI will
add an assortment of avionics,
advanced electronics and oth-
er items to the plane's plat-
form.
The price of the plane will
be between $15 million and
$20 million, which is up to
three times less than the price
for other similar planes,
Shapiro said.
Coopers, Lybrand
Value Refineries
England-based Coopers and
Lybrand, one of the world's
largest accountancy and con-
sulting firms, was chosen to
carry out a formal valuation of
National Oil Refineries in Is-
rael.
The company will determine
how best to separate the Oil
Refineries into two different
concerns, if it is desirable to do
so.
The concern currently oper-
ates two facilities, one in the
Haifa Bay Region and the sec-
ond in Ashdod.
The government controls 74
percent of the Oil Refineries'
