The American Association of
Foot Care Centers Inc. has an-
nounced the establishment of a
scholarship fund in memory of
Lee E. Friedman, D.P.M.,
(1943 - 1993).
The fund was established to
honor a "dedicated podiatrist
and superb human being," said
Water Coleman, D.P.M., a
childhood friend and profes-
sional colleague of Dr. Fried-
man.
Among his many achieve-
ments, Dr. Friedman served as
president of the Midwest Podi-
atric Association and chief of
staff at Kern Hospital hi War-
ren. He had a private practice
in Warren.

Dr. Bruce Niebylski

Dr. Bruce Niebyiski, vice
president of ambulatory ser-
vices at Sinai. Hospital, in Jan-
uary announced that the
Detroit-based facility is open-
ing a new obstetrics and gyne-
cology office.

Dr. Andrea Jill Eisenberg
and Dr. Lon E. Katz, both
Sinai physicians specializing in
obstetrics and gynecology, will
practice at the new office on
Karim near 10 Mile Road and
Haggerty. The practice is called
Novi OB/Gyn.
Drs. Eisenberg and Katz are
junior fellows of the American
College of Obstetrics and Gy-
necology. Both are graduates of
Wayne State University School
of Medicine.

Dr. Marc A. Borovoy,
D.P.M., has been appointed
president of the Michigan Po-
diatric Medical Association

(MPMA). This will be his sev-
enth term serving on the board
of directors.

As president, he aims to con-
tinue educating the public and
increasing awareness about the
pediatric profession. A primary
goal also will be to focus on
health-care reform and involve
the profession in a beneficial
way as it relates to reform.
He has offices in Novi and
Oak Park and is on staff at
Hutzel and Sinai Hospitals,
Southfield's Straith Hospital
and Providence Hospital, where
he is chief of podiatric surgery.

Dr. Seymour Gordon,
medical director of Cardiac Re-
habilitation and Exercise Lab-
oratories at William Beaumont
Hospital, will receive the Dodrill
Award for Excellence from the
American Heart Association of
Michigan at its seventh annu-
al Heart Ball on Feb. 26.

Ida Warshay has joined the
Detroit Medical Center (DMC)
as the annual giving officer for
Harper Hospital. She will be re-
sponsible for the Annual Fund
Campaign, the Harper Em-
ployee Giving Campaign and
planning special events and pro-
jects for the hospital. Previous-
ly, she was the development
director for Kadima, an agency
providing services to the Jew-
ish mentally ill.

David Siegel, M.D., M.P.H.,
medical director and vice pres-
ident of Health and Medical Af-
fairs for Health Alliance Plan of
Michigan, has been honored as
distinguished fellow of the
American College of Physician
Executives.
