Midrasha
Pesach Study

The Midrasha Center for Adult
Jewish Learning will present a
variety of adult study opportu-
nities to encourage adult learn-
ers to prepare for the Passover
holiday. All of the programs will
be held at Midrasha, 21550
West 12 Mile Road in South-
field, and there is a charge.
Community educator Susann
Codish will teach a two-part
Monday night series titled
"Songs of Freedom: Exodus
Themes in the Book of Psalms."
Texts will be presented in both
Hebrew and English. Some
reading knowledge of Hebrew
is helpful but not required.
Study sessions will be from
7:30-9 p.m. on March 7 and 14.
Advance registration is re-
quired.
Rabbi Ahron Davidson will
lead students on "A Tradition-
al Walk through the Passover
Haggadah" on two Thursday
nights, March 10 and 17 from
7:30-9 p.m. This series will high-
light key sections of the Hag-
gadah and help students
prepare to fulfill the mitzvah of
telling the Passover story at
their upcoming sedarim. Ad-
vance registration is required.
Talmudic sources and later
commentaries dealing with
Passover themes will be ex-
plored in a three-part study se-
ries taught by Rabbi Rod
Glogower titled "Inside the Rab-
binic Mind: Passover Insights."
This series will meet on Tues-
day nights, March 1, 8, and 15
7:30-8:30 p.m. Some reading
knowledge of Hebrew is sug-
gested but not required. All
texts will be translated into
English by the teacher. Advance
registration is required.
Pirkei Avot is a text that is
traditionally studied by Jews
between the holidays of
Passover and Shavout. Imme-
diately following Passover,
Midrasha will present a three-
part lunch and learn study se-
ries taught by Rabbi Aaron
Bergman on Pirkei Avot
themes. The series will use as
a study text an ancient midrash
on Pirkei Avot titled "Avot
d'Rabbi Natan." Sessions will
meet on three Wednesdays,
April 6, 13, and 20, with a light
kosher lunch at noon and study
session from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Reservations are essential. Stu-
dents may attend the study ses-
sion only (without lunch) at a
prorated charge.
