Bee Kalt Travel The Quality Travel Specialists since 1958 Daily arivals of Spring '94 Merchandise Israel, Qatar Set Fuel Deal Jerusalem (JTA) — A natural gas deal in the works between Israel and the Persian Gulf state of Qatar reportedly got a push this week in a London meeting between officials from the two countries. The agreement is seen here as an important sign that the Arab boycott has weakened as the peace pro- cess continues at a slow but determined pace. Foreign Minister Shimon Peres and Energy Minister Moshe Shahal reportedly met in London with Qatar's foreign minister and his ad- visers to advance the deal. Neither Israeli minister would tell reporters about the meeting. Under the plan, natural gas would be brought to Israel, some of which would replace coal and other fossil fuels now used to operate electricity plants, while the rest would be transported to Europe. The deal had been ex- pected to be concluded by late last year. ❑ • Superior Customer Service • Comfortable and friendly atmosphere • Missy size range 4 14 - • Sophisticated Sportswear Transitional into Evening 2801 North Woodward Royal Oak, Michigan 48073 313-288-9600 National Toll Free 1-800-284-KALT 8th Annual Charity Trade-In All Hants collected &nag February will go to benefit The Metro Detroit Youth Foundation, C.O. Though the testing of sample populations in Israel is in its early stages, Pro- fessor Kanner is very confi- dent that the results will vin- dicate his theories about dark grapes. "The level of anti-oxidants in red grapes really is very remarkable," he stresses. "Unfortunately, . light or green grapes, which are sweeter and more succulent and suitable to be eaten fresh, contain markedly lower levels of anti-oxidants." However, Professor Kanner hastens to add that we do not need to become drunkards to enrich ourselves with the grapes' anti-oxidants. "Firstly, dark red grapes can always be drunk in the form of fresh grape juice," he remarks. "But even if somebody wants to increase their anti-oxidant level through red wine, I estimate that one glass a day would be sufficient?' Professor Kanner expects to quantify such claims more categorically when his research surveys of sample populations are completed in several years' time. Not sur- prisingly, the research is be- ing supported by commercial manufacturers of grape and wine products. ❑
