Families should visit the Jewish Museum's Family Ac- tivity Center's art workshops, which are related to the muse- um's exhibits. The workshops are free with museum admis- sion. Children will enjoy the mu- seum's current show, whose topic is the Sabbath. Called `The Best Day Of The Week," it is a self-guided exhibit for youngsters from age 5 to 10. Original Jewish marriage contracts from different parts of the world and spanning three centuries are on display at the UJA-Federation Gallery (130 E. 59th St.) until March 15. Dating from 1640, the ketubot come from Persia, Italy, Colom- bia, Russia, Turkey, Yemen and other countries. "A Woman of Valor/Aishet Hayil," is an exhibit (at the Yeshiva University Museum) based on the 22-line acrostic poem from the Book of Proverbs, which speaks of the ideal woman. The exhibit consists of works by 35 artists from North American and Israel. The me- dia employed are silver, paint- ing, graphics, wood, metal, ceramic, fabric, etc. For accommodation in the city the Rihga Royal all-suite hotel has a quiet ambiance, many guest amenities, and both a fitness and business center, which are complimentary. It is also walking distance from Lin- coln and Rockefeller centers, Broadway theaters, museums and Fifth Avenue. Another establishment is the Ritz-Carlton New York. Over- looking Central Park, it has just undergone a $22 million reno- vation. To celebrate this event, it is offering a Grand Celebra- tion package, with all sorts of amenities, which continues through March 31. Those going to New York by car or stopping in the Catskills should make a detour to the Mohonk Mountain House, in New Paltz, N.Y. Celebrating 125 years of hospitality, this na- tional historic landmark is the ideal retreat either before, or af- ter, an exciting stay in the city. The weekend of March 25-27 the Mohonk Mountain House is having a Family Festival of Folk Music, Dancing, Singing and Storytelling. Hosted by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, it promises as much fun for adults, as for children. Music lovers will find an abundance of operas and con- certs to choose from at the Lin- coln Center.
