Lunch & Dinner

Fact is, more Americans
may die by the fork than by
any other weapon. That's
because so many of them
use it irresponsibly. Like
to fill up on high-fat, high-
cholesterol foods. Foods
that can load the blood with
cholesterol, which can build
up plaque in their arteries,
increasing their risk of
heart attacks and threaten-
ing their lives. So next time
you pick up a fork, remem-
ber to handle it as you
would any other weapon.
For self-defense, not
self-destruction.

Bonds Event Draws
Large, Young Crowd

LOCAL COLUMNIST

The Detroit New
Leadership Divi-
sion of State of
Israel Bonds re-
cently held an
event at Second
City in Detroit.
More than 320
patrons, mostly
in the thirty-
something age bracket, attend-
ed the sold-out event. Nick
Balberman, Robert Colburn
and Robert Stone were the
leadersh chairmen, while Ryan
Attenson, Jay Schreibman
and Richard Zussman were
the event chairmen.

Ehrlichman, Alex Benson,
Ron Klein, Elaine Goren,
Peter Alter, and Alayna
and Michael Langnas.

ARTISTS MARKET

The Detroit Artists Market
has two exciting events. The
"Sketchbooks exhibition
will continue through Feb. 5
and culminate with a recep-
tion from 4-7 p.m. Sketches
by many local artists have
been donated for a silent
auction ending at 6 p.m. Feb.
5. Some of the artists in-
clude: Lynn Avadenka,

Mr. Colburn attributed the
success of the evening to the
cause and the venue. "The
chairmen were committed to
getting people to attend," he
added.
"We want to educate the
people so when they are
ready to make an in-
vestment, they'll think of
Israel Bonds," said Mr.
Stone.

Spotlight

David Hermelin spoke
before the entertainment.
He joked about his disap-
pointment that he was not
the main act at Second City.
Nevertheless, he kept his
routine "short," which he
said is very easy for him.

Elizabeth Hill and
Rhonda Verona were the
publicity chairmen. Some of
the people spotted in the
crowd included: Linda and
Tom Ditkoff, Sheri and
Gary Morof, Jeff
