SHOE HEAVEN

There is an entire room at The Vil-
lage Shoe Inn in Farmington devoted
to dressy shoes. Imagine stacks of
boxes filled with lace, silk and dye-
able shoes perfect for a member of
the bridal party or for special occa-
sion dressing.
'We have the largest selection of
evening and bridal shoes in the
United States," says owner Mary
Ann Thibault, owner of the six Vil-
lage Shoe Inn stores in Michigan
with her son Chuck Thibault. "If
people can't find what they are
looking for in major department
stores, they visit us," she adds.
The Village Shoe Inn even sends
shoes by air express to customers
who can't find the right shoe locally.
We've featured the popular styles
by the manufacturer Dyeables. Cus-
tomers bring swatches of their
gowns for a perfect match. To ac-
cessorize the gown, there are rhine-
stone, pearlized and silk handbags.

Nicole Layne Kovas wanted a nat-
ural hair style for her wedding day.
"I wanted to look like me," she said.
Brenda Loose, a hair stylist at
Palazzolo salon in Royal Oak, and
Robin Manoogian, a makeup artist
with About Face located in Palazzo-
lo, helped her achieve a natural and
finished look.
"I used hot rollers and lots of
back combing to fit in the head-
piece. Then I added some shine to
the hair to make the curls look nat-
ural," said Ms. Loose. She recom-
mends that brides come in for a
trial appointment with their head-
pieces.
