Sitting side by side at the computer, Ms. Greenberg and Ms. Katz write everything to- gether — discussing aloud and often reading each other's minds. They take turns at the keyboard. "We both think of the same word at the same time, or I'll type the phrase Jan didn't have time to get out of her mouth yet," Ms. Katz said. "In the beginning, we thought it was so weird. Now its just part of the process." Ms. Greenberg added that working in such a way enables the women to immediately build upon each other's thoughts and cre- ativity and automatically inhibits procrasti- nation. Working about five hours each day, Ms. Greenberg and Ms. Katz completed Some- thing Borrowed, Something Blue in about one year. Dressed in Salvation Army clothing dredged up from the 1960s, with ratted hair, white lipstick and winged eyeliner, Ms. Green- berg and Ms. Katz joined a host of others in Toronto to work as "extras" in the wedding scene of Used People, starring Shirley MacLaine, Jessica Tandy and Kathy Bates. "We wanted to learn more about the glam- our and grit aspect of models and actresses," Ms. Katz said. They might get the opportunity again.
