Monique, the magazine editor, is unquestionably Ms. Greenberg and Ms. Katz's favorite character. "She's definitely got a mouth," Ms. Katz said. Actually, the authors have an affinity for all their brides. `These characters are real, but they're not compos- ites of anyone we know," Ms. Greenberg said. "It's tough. You have to be true to your characters. They aren't card- board, so you have to make their actions believable."
