Dance Theatre At Music Hall Dance Theatre of Harlem, one of America's premiere ballet companies, will make its first Detroit appearance in nearly five years at Music Hall Center Feb. 4-6. DTH's weekend at Music Hall Center will consist of four performances which include two Detroit premieres, Gi- nastera, a blend of Spanish, folk and ballet, and the moving Medea, choreographed by Michael Smuin. The third piece, The River, was premiered by DTH in New York in March 1993. Winterfest In Birmingham Huge blocks of ice will be trans- formed into art sculptures at Winterfest 1994, Birmingham's winter wonderland weekend, Feb. 4-6. A celebrity guest judge will award prizes to the winners and scholarship en- dowments to participating col- leges.
