al News Rabbi Wolpe At Beth El The Jewis David Wolpe Rabbi David Wolpe, author, speaker and educator, will be the scholar-in-residence for the 52nd annual Rabbi B. Benedict Glazer Institute on Judaism for the Christian, Eastern Ortho- dox, Muslim and Protestant Clergy Feb. 11 at Temple Beth El. The format, two morning lec- tures, followed by a luncheon discussion chaired by two Chris- tian clerics, will provide non- Jewish clergy the opportunity to visit the temple, share views and develop friendships. Rabbi Wolpe, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Judaism. He received his ordination from the Jewish Theological Semi- nary of America and studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Edinburgh Uni- versity, Scotland. Rabbi Wolpe is director of the Ostrow Library and instructor in Modern Jewish Thought at the University of Judaism, Los Angeles. He serves on the edi- torial board for the Conserva- tive Movement's Torah commentary which is in progress. Rabbi Wolpe will address the institute participants Feb. 11 at 9:30 a.m. and at 10:45 a.m., speaking on "The Spiritual Journey of the Jew" and "The Spiritual Journey of the Jewish People." On Feb. 11 at 8 p.m., Rabbi Wolpe will speak to the congre gation on "Teaching Your Chil- dren About God." On Feb. 12 at 11 a.m., he will speak at Shab- bat services on "The Spiritual Journey of a Jewish Life." The community is invited to attend both services. Rabbi Wolpe will also ad- dress a joint teachers' in-service at Temple Beth El on Feb. 10. The in-service is underwritten by a grant from the Harold M.
