The Fourth Annual Hillel Day
School Shabbat will be held at
Congregation Beth Abraham
Hillel Moses Jan. 29. Hillel stu-
dents in grades kindergarten
through eight will conduct the
Shabbat morning service.
Jennie Shindler will deliver
a D'var Torah on the portion of
the week, Yitro; Michael Katz-
man will chant the Aharon and
Maftir portions of the Torah
reading; and Lara Sussman
and Mira Freilich will read the
Haftorah.

Adat Shalom Synagogue 5th
through 7th graders will have
a retreat weekend at Camp
Maas in Ortonville Feb. 4-6.
This first annual Shoresh
Weekend will have social, ed-
ucational, and religious pro-
gramming, along with winter
outdoor activities.
The weekend is sponsored by
the Synagogue's Youth & Edu-
cation Department. There is a

B'nai Moshe
Hosts Shabbaton

The USY chapter of Congrega-
tion B'nai Moshe will host B'nai
Moshe Shabbaton at the syna-
gogue Feb. 4-6. The group will
gather on Friday at 4 p.m. and
disperse on Sunday at noon.
The cost for the weekend in-
cludes food. Respond to respec-
tive USY chapter presidents.

Physicist Gives
Four Lectures

Dr. Gerald Schroeder, nuclear
physicist, former MIT professor
and author of Genesis and the
Big Bang, will give four public
lectures. They will be on "Age
of the Universe," "Origins of
Life," "Origin of Mankind,"
"Physics of Free Will" and "Love
of Thy Neighbor."
He will speak 7:30 p.m. Feb.
3, at the Maple-Drake Jewish
Community Center; Feb. 4 at
Young Israel of West Bloomfield
at 8 p.m.; Feb. 4 at Akiva Day
School at 9 a.m.

Story Hour

A Shabbat story hour is set for
11 am-noon Feb. 12 at the
Birmingham Temple for chil-
dren ages 3 to 6 with their par-
