Leonard doesn't believe this
. . . "In our years together in
business, we never argued."
Not even before, either ... as
in 1921 when Larry came for
that job and almost got the boot
from Leonard . . . "Just a mis-
understanding . . . but with a
smile."
THLS IS WHAT you call ser-
vice . . . And on a Saturday
night yet, with people galore
waiting for tables.
David Burke and wife Susan
ordered lamb chops at Big
Daddy's Parthenon on Orchard
Lake Road, north of Maple, and
asked their waiter for mint jelly
. . . The lamb chops are so juicy
and succulent that nobody has
asked for this since Big Daddy's
Parthenon opened in late 1993.
The waiter said that they
didn't have any ... Rick Rogow,
co-owner, heard this and like
a flash was out the door .. .
crowd or no crowd . . . to buy a
jar of mint jelly for Dave, Susan
and another couple with them
who enjoyed a platter of the
tasty devils.
Big Daddy's Parthenon, by
the way, is also getting to be
quite the spot for local sports
celebrities . . . Bob Probert, Bill
Laimbeer, Scotty Bowman, Viri-
nie Johnson, Dave Richards,
Dallas Drake, Terry Carkner,
Billy Smith, Sheldon Kennedy,
Mike Bitch, etc.
The Red Wing wives held a
baby shower there for expectant
mother Jeanne Wharton, wife
of Red Wings trainer John
Wharton . and Bill Laimbeer
hosted a birthday party for wife
Chris Laimbeer.
A number of local television,
radio and newspaper personali-
ties have also made Big Daddy's
Parthenon a favorite spot at
which to eat.
Whatever Rick Rogow and
Tom Peristeris are doing, it
must be the right thing . . . The
place is packed every night .. .
customers don't seem to mind
waiting . . . This certainly tells
you something.
CONGRATS . . . to Al and
Sarah Rosenberg, both still ac-
tive with son Jeffrey Rosenberg
in his fine kosher catering ven-
ture . . . on their 47th anniver-
sary . . . to Zelda Miller Bean
. . . on her 75th birthday . . . cele-
brated with a luncheon in Flori-
da . . . to Kathy Hack ... on her
28th birthday ... to Eleanor
Hack . . . on her birthday . . . to
Art Shafer . . . on his birthday
. . . to Izzy Malin . . . on his 77th
birthday . . . to Izzy and Fran
Malin . . . on their 56th an-
niversary . . . to Sol Garfield
. . . on his birthday.
REUNION DEPT. . . . 20-
year get-together shindig by
Oak Park High is set for Sept.
4, 1994, at Troy-Marriott Hotel
. . . Call Karon Kotzen Blair
(Allen's daughter and Abe's
granddaughter) at 489-0762. ❑
