The speaker will be Michelle
Kaufman, Detroit Free Press
sports columnist. She has cov-
ered the 1991 Pan American
Games in Havana, the 1992
Winter Olympics and the 1992
Summer Olympics.

Participants in April's Michi-
gan Miracle Mission are invit-
ed to attend 'The Jewish/Arab
Conflict: The Struggle for Gods
Over the Promised Land" a dis-
cussion featuring Rabbi Daniel
Levine, vice chairman of the
Melitz Centers for Jewish Zion-
ist Education, Jan. 17-18 at the
Max M. Fisher Building.
The program, which will be
held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 17, and
7:30 a.m. and noon Jan. 18, is
sponsored by Melitz and the
Jewish Federation's Mission In-
volvement Committee.
Rabbi Levin will examine the
issue of Jewish attitudes toward
Israel's Arab citizens.
A political scientist at Tel
Aviv and Bar-Ilan universities,
Rabbi Levine was ordained at
the Rabbi Isaac Elhanan The-
ological Seminary at Yeshiva
University. Previously, he was
educational director of the
American Zionist Youth Foun-
dation in New York and liaison
officer in the Israeli Army's
spokesman's office.
