Congregation Beth Achim will
celebrate Shabbat Hanoar Jan.
22 beginning with services at
8:45 a.m.
Each year Congregation Beth
Achim salutes the youth of the
synagogue with this special ser-
vice. Students from the Beth
Achim branch of the Congrega-
tional Religious School and the
Beth Achim youth department
will participate in conducting
the services including reading
from the Torah, reading the
prophetic passages and special
readings in Hebrew and Eng-
lish.
Those conducting the service
include Daniel Goldstein, who
will lead Schacharit services;
the Haftorah will be chanted by
Michael E. Schostak; Etan
Berman will give a D'var Torah
and Neil Citron will lead Musaf.

Family Shabbat
Congregation Beth Achim's
Family Shabbat Dinner will be
Jan. 21 at the synagogue. Ser-
vices will begin at 5:20 p.m.
with dinner immediately fol-
lowing at 6 p.m.
In addition to the traditional
Friday night meal, Rabbi Mar-
tin Berman will explain the sig-
nificance of the various
elements of the Shabbat. Can-
tor Max Shimansky will lead
the families in z'mirot. There is
a charge and reservations are
required by Jan. 18. For infor-
