AT HARPER FURNITURE WE SAY...
"ALL LEATHER IS NOT THE SAME."

a book about the Nuremberg
trials, where he served as chief
prosecutor for the Americans.
The Anatomy of the Nurem-
berg Trials (Back Bay Books)
offers a firsthand look at what
happened both inside and out-
side the courtroom. Mr. Taylor
writes of the brilliance, and in-
eptness, of the prosecutors; the
negotiations that preceded the
handing down of sentences; and
the accused themselves, many
of whom insisted to the end that
they were free of guilt.
Mr. Taylor writes, for exam-
ple, of Julius Streicher, editor
of the anti-Semitic Der Stuer-
mer, that he:
denied that his actions had
incited violence against Jews; he
declared that the mass killings
of Jews first became known to
him in 1945...; he acknowledged
ordering the destruction of the
main Nuremberg synagogue in
1938, but insisted that the pur-
pose was architectural rather
than anti-Semitic; ...(and) he
disclosed that he had visited the
Dachau concentration camp
four times, but only for the pur-
pose of selecting noncriminal in-
mates for an annual trip to the
Hotel Deutscherhof in Nurem-
berg for Christmas dinner!

Organ'zational backstabbing; Fork over
the Tigers tickets.

N

o doubt you've noticed
that your colleague,
John Robert Walker
Wellington III (with
a name like that, you know he's
going to be trouble) is always
the first to get the Tigers tick-
ets your boss can't use. And that
John Robert Walker Wellington
III gets three weeks' vacation,
and you get three days. "Why,
why, why?" you ask.
You can find the answer in
The Definitive Guide to Orga-
nizational Backstabbing (Avon-
stoke Press) by Detroiter Berl
Falbaum.
"Here is the manual any po-
tential backstabber must have,"
the publishers promise. "Berl
Falbaum gives you clear and de-
tailed instructions on how to
make your way up the corporate
ladder or any ladder you hap-
pen to be hung up on." ❑

reducing long-term debt, to enable us to reduce the legacy of debt for
our children and grandchildren.
- Restructure social and economic programs so that they help people to
help themselves, and don't just hand out money.
- Divert one-half of the social security tax to IRA-like accounts to be
managed and owned by taxpayers.
- Strengthen our capitalist system by reducing corporate subsidies.
