"Rainbows"— Living and Dealing
with Change (W4 4)
This program is for children ages five
through sixteen, and their parents who are
coping with the changes due to separation,
divorce or death in a family. When a parent
dies, or a divorce occurs, the child grieves in
his own way. "Rainbows" is designed to
assist the children to come to a healthy
understanding of what has happened to the
family. This is accomplished with the
assistance of trained, nurturing adults in a
secure environment. The parent education
group focuses on parenting issues affected by
the changes in family dynamics such as:
stress on single parents; identifying feelings;
and positive parenting skills. The parent
group will meet at the same time as the
children. This is offered in conjunction with
National Council of Jewish Women. Held
at Shaarey Zedek, Southfield.

Parent Talk —
Communication
Between Parents (W4-5)
This useful workshop will focus on
improving communication between parents as
they deal with their children. The participants
will examine their value issues and develop
communication skills that will strengthen
their family relationships.

The Next S.T.E.P. (W4 6)
This eight session study group is
a follow-up to preschool or elementary
Mensch Making—S.TE.P. classes. This class
will encourage parents to take a fresh look
at their parenting style and provide an in-
depth look at factors which influence the
ability to be effective parents. The class will
also focus on building self-esteem and stress
reduction for h oth parents and children. A
Mensch Making and/or S . T E. P. class is a pre-
requisite for this class. Held at Shaarey
Zedek, Southfield.

present step-by-step instructions to help you
maximize the Jewish tradition of family.
