hile there's no doubt
that looking good
helps you feel better
while working out,
the bottom line in fitness

workout clothes, ranging
from leotards and leggings to
boxer shorts and bra tops.
According to Trudy Foster,
of Leotards Etcetera in the
Bloomfield Plaza, much of the
workout clothing can be worn
during the day, especially if
you change the accessories.
Ms. Foster sells workout
clothing and sportswear for
active women. "Women want

he Sports Club of West
Bloomfield (formerly
One on One Athletic
Club) has started a $2.5
million expansion. Upon
completion of the expansion,
the Sports Club will offer
memberships and programs
in fitness, aerobics, tennis,
swimming, tae kwon do, sand
volleyball, outdoor basketball
and racquetball in a 90,000
square foot facility built on
7.5 acres.
The project includes the
construction of an outdoor
swimming complex, the ex-
pansion of the club's fitness
center, the addition of five
new outdoor tennis courts,
and the addition of a new
building over the club's ex-
isting five outdoor tennis
courts.
The expansion of the fit-
ness center was recently com-
pleted. It now has 2,000
square feet dedicated to car-
diovascular equipment that
includes treadmills, stair-

masters, stationary bikes, re-
cumbent bikes, rowers and a
versaclimber. This cardio-
vascular center complements
the other components of the
club's fitness center: a 1,500
square foot aerobics studio, a
2,500 square foot weight
training area, a 600 square
foot space dedicated to
stretching, and an indoor
track.
The swimming complex
and new tennis courts will be
built on the vacant lot to the
south of the club's facility,
which was recently acquired.
The construction will be com-
pleted in the spring and
summer of 1994.
The swimming complex
will include a reception area,
locker rooms, snack bar, an
eight-lane lap pool, a train-
ing pool, and whirlpool.
Along with a large pool deck
will be a playground, sand
volleyball court and a bas-
ketball court. ❑
